A system overview or full
demonstration is available upon request. In
the meantime we have provided below a list of the most commonly asked questions.
Q.
How
flexible is Classic Plus?
A. Classic
Plus is the result of 20 years in the auto rental automation business.
Because of this it has developed into a very comprehensive package.
However, if a user finds a need for customization, Classic Plus was
developed in a manner that allows our team to handle changes to the system
easily. The software has a report
generator as well as an optional ODBC link to connect to other Windows
applications. This does not usually
require custom programming.
Q.
Does
Classic Plus handle insurance replacement?
A. Yes. Classic Plus tracks multiple payees associated with insurance replacement.
Q.
Does
Classic Plus track car history?
A. Yes.
The complete history is tracked throughout the life of the car. Through the work order module you can even track parts from
damage repair.
Q.
Can Classic Plus manage multiple companies,
locations and fleets?
A.
Yes.
You are able to track multiple companies, fleets and multiple locations in the
Classic Plus software.
Q.
Will
I be able to upgrade from my current system to Classic Plus?
A.
Absolutely!
Whether you manage by hand, use a custom system or competitor; Orion
Systems has a way to convert nearly every system that is currently available.
Q.
What
about hardware upgrades?
A. Classic
Plus takes advantage of most existing hardware.
It is interoperable between PC’s and terminals.
Using terminals loses no software functionality.
The server needs Linux or Sun Solaris as the operating system. (See
System Requirements below.)
Q.
Is training available for Classic Plus?
A. Yes. Training is available at our Orion Systems’ classroom, located in Omaha, NE, by phone, by our web-based training tool called WebEx or at your location with an Orion Systems trainer.
Q.
For what size customer is Classic Plus best
suited?
A. Classic Plus is very scalable. The database is structured to handle startup customers all the way to multi-national companies. Because of the stability, speed of transaction, and open source operating system, it is especially well suited for larger rental operators.
Q.
What
are the system requirements for Classic Plus?
A.
If
Classic Plus is licensed for on-site use, a UNIX or Linux server and
terminals or PC’s connected to the server are the primary requirements. Remote locations connect to the server via the Internet or
modem. If integrated credit card
processing is used, a separate modem is required to connect to the credit card
processor.
Classic Plus
software is more hard
drive intensive than CPU intensive, therefore the bigger and faster your hard
drive, the better the software will perform.
A RAID solution is suggested for larger applications. SCSI hard drives are also suggested for faster throughput.
